The City of San Marcos, CA is located in the hills of North County San Diego inbetween I-15 and I-5, along the 78 freeway. By the mid 1900's San Marcos saw the construction of highway 78 causing San Marcos to become the third fastest growing city a short time later. During the 1960's the population of San Marcos, CA grew by the thousands and the City of San Marcos was incorporated.
Since the 1980's San Marcos has remained one of the fastest growing cities in California and has enjoyed the addition of several large retailers as well as Palomar College and Cal State San Marcos.
